What can a teen do at Whistler Village? Over spring break, I will be travelling to Whistler, B.C for a week-long snowboarding trip. We are going to be staying in the Whistler village area (at least I think that's what it's called). I know that most of my time will be taken up by the many snowboarding terrains the mountains have to offer, but I don't know what to do other than that. I was looking at a map of the village, and there appears to be at least ten of everything (resturants, places to hang out, etc). Trip to New England in fall - Shelburne Museum or Sturbridge Village??? Pros/cons of each? which is bigger? better museum? which is more interesting? which is in a better area for other activities? I'm guessing Shelburne, as it is near Burlington & Lake Champlain, but then I've never been to western Mass (Boston = been there/done that). It also seems like both are a bit like Williamsburg? re-created town with shops, farm, crafts, restaurants, etc.

How do I make my plan for a round trip that depart from Las Vegas through Grand Canyon and Zion NP? I'm planning to have a road trip that focus on Grand Canyon and Grand Circle in the end of Aug for 3 days. I've booked one night lodge in Grand Canyon Village. I'll depart in early morning from Las Vegas heading for the south rim first, driving through Powell Lake and Zion NP in the following days, and back to Las Vegas before 19:00 in the third day. My problem is where is the best place to stay for the second night (National Park lodge or motel in which town), while I prefer having enough time for sightseeing or a short hike. I need advice of how to allocate my time in the Grand Circle since that it costs lots of time on the road from Grand Canyon through Lake Powell to Zion NP. Should I just make a short stop in Lake Powell and save my time in Zion NP? How long would it take for each of the route? (South rim - Page; Page - Zion NP; Zion NP to Las Vegas). YTB TRAVEL - has anyone actually taken a trip? Is it a scam? My dad recently signed up for YTB travel, I told him it was a pyramid scheme (my boyfriend got involved with ACN and was out within a month, loosing about $1000) so we have a bad taste for anything related to the sort of MLM. My entire family on my mom's side is taking a trip to China in Octorber. Of course my dad tried to jump on this opportunity to book us the trip. (Does he get commission or something?) Before sending all my relatives and my GRANDMOTHER (this will be her last trip to visit her village in China) on this trip - if it is booked through YTB, I DESPERATELY need to know if the actual travel and trips that YTB books with are legit and reliable. Will we get thrown some bad hotel and tours or will they be the same if we were to book with a different travel agent? // I have not been able to find anything about ACTUAL trips taken through YTB, just shady topics about the company. Anyone really experienced the village life of a Nicaraguan? I'm going to Nicaragua this January, on a humanitarian trip to build a school there. We'll be spending two weeks with host families who live in little huts with very little facilities. I've heard a bunch of horror stories from people who have been in the past years, and I'm actually a little afraid of the culture shock... but I really can't wait to do this! I'm just wondering if anyone has any advice for a really spoiled brat? I want to make the most of this experience. ahhh I'm one to scream for mom if i see a spider crawling across the wall! Horror stories? Like fire ants in your clothes and finding a nasty surprise when you put them on. Running water and electricity -- highly unlikely... Host families with no door or curtain for bathroom. Bring your own toilet paper (and keep it hidden!) or be prepared to use newspaper. Almost certain diarrhea. No cell phone (my parents will freak for two weeks w/o hearing from me). Food -- what the host family can afford to feed you (the organization pays them something like 5$ a day for keeping us, so they can buy bottled water and other necessities for us)...but some actually try to save the money by not completely following the rules...

Day Train Trip from Rome: Orvieto or Assisi? Planning on taking a day trip by train from Rome in November of 2009 but can't decide between Orvieto or Assisi. Are you familiar with the name of the town/village "The Princess Bride" was filmed in England? If you know, do you know if they have any tours related to the movie or something similar or if not that the town/village/manor where "The Secret Garden" and/or "The Chronicles of Narnia, Lion, Witch & Wardrobe" were filmed.
