What has the impact been on your village due to the closure of a local pub?

So many village pubs are closing at the moment that there must be an impact on the social dynamics of communities? How is it affecting your village and are these impacts different across the UK?

1. Mainly thirst. But also on social life.

3. The smoking ban has had a dire effect on our village pubs & social club, not only that, evening football matches on TV, although it is fine for those who enjoy football, it doesn`t go down well where space is limited and people prefer to talk - and can`t...
4. I live in a city, but with the combination of the smoking ban, a huge Tescos open 24hrs, and a lot of redundancies happening nearby both the local pubs in my area have closed.
