- I would recommend Cheltenham as the best base within the Cotswolds. Lovely town with loadds to do, and easy to access all around. Good range of hotels and places to stay from budget to expensive.
- In August 2006, we stayed at Wolfords Farm B&B outside Shipston-on-Stour. I would recommend the town, not so much the B&B (it was fine, just a little too out of the way). Next trip, we're planning to to stay somewhere in Stow-on-Wold, as it has loads of antique shops.
Both are convenient to exploring the Cotswolds. Chipping Camden is nice, too (stayed there in 2001), but it can be more pricey.
