Village Breaks

What are some good ESL teaching materials for working with the poor village setting with few resources?

I have been teaching English at a cram school in Asia for a year and am now going to Latin America to work in a poor village. The materials I now use are good but copyrighted by the school, so I can't take them. I am also used to having a library of resources. Now, I won't have a photocopier and probably won't be able to bring in a lot of resources, (definitely not one per student) so I am looking for good books and materials out of which I can get plenty of mileage.

  1. Use pictures from old magazines to make flashcards for vocabulary words, situations and story/conversation starters. They are cheap, reusable and a lot of fun.
